Privacy Policy
Last updated: 23 September 2026
Eos Milos House is a private villa in Pollonia, Milos. This policy explains what personal information we collect when you visit eosmiloshouse.com, send us an enquiry or book a stay, what we do with it, and the choices you have.
The short version
- We only collect what we need to answer your enquiry and look after your booking.
- We don’t use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies.
- We never sell your information or use it for marketing.
- You can ask us to see, correct or delete your information at any time.
1. Who we are
The data controller responsible for your personal information is:
ΔΗΜΗΤΡΙΟΣ ΠΟΥΛΗΜΕΝΟΣ ΚΑΙ ΣΙΑ Ε.Ε.
ΠΟΛΛΩΝΙΑ ΜΗΛΟΣ
Email: info@eosmiloshouse.com
We are a small, owner-run business and are not required to appoint a Data Protection Officer. For anything relating to your information, write to us at the email above and the owner will reply personally.
2. What we collect
2.1 When you send an enquiry
Our enquiry form asks for:
- your name, email address and phone number (required)
- the number of guests and your check-in and check-out dates (optional)
- any message you choose to write (optional)
- your confirmation that you have read this policy
We need the required details to reply to you. Without them we can’t respond to your enquiry.
The form also contains a hidden anti-spam field that real visitors never see or fill in. It collects nothing about you.
2.2 When you book and pay
If you decide to stay after your enquiry, we confirm the booking by email and agree with you how to pay. We keep what the booking needs: your name, contact details, stay dates, number of guests, any requests you make and the payment records.
2.3 When you contact us directly
If you email us, call us or message us on WhatsApp, we receive whatever you choose to send, along with your email address or phone number.
2.4 When you browse the site
Like every website, our hosting provider automatically records basic technical information when you visit: your IP address, browser type, the pages requested and the time of the request. This is used only to keep the site secure and working, and is kept for a short period.
3. Why we use it, and our legal basis
| What we do | Legal basis under the GDPR |
|---|---|
| Reply to your enquiry and prepare a quote | Steps you ask us to take before entering into a contract (Art. 6(1)(b)) |
| Manage your booking, stay and payment | Performance of our contract with you (Art. 6(1)(b)) |
| Keep booking and payment records for tax and accounting | Legal obligation under Greek law (Art. 6(1)(c)) |
| Keep the website secure and protect it from spam and abuse | Our legitimate interest in running a safe website (Art. 6(1)(f)) |
We don’t use your information for marketing, and we don’t make automated decisions or build profiles about you.
4. Who we share it with
We share your information only with the service providers we need to run the villa and this website, and only as much as each one needs:
- Hostinger hosts this website and our email, and stores enquiry form submissions.
- Google (Gmail) provides the inbox where enquiries are delivered.
- Our bank processes the payments you make to us.
- Our website developer maintains the site and may access enquiry records only when needed to keep it working, under a duty of confidentiality.
- Public authorities, only when Greek law requires it, such as the Independent Authority for Public Revenue (ΑΑΔΕ).
If you contact us on WhatsApp, that conversation is also handled by WhatsApp (Meta) under its own privacy policy.
If you book Eos Milos House through a third-party platform rather than our website, that platform is responsible for the information you give it, under its own privacy policy.
We never sell your personal information.
5. Our Instagram feed and map
Our homepage shows recent posts from our Instagram account. The images are stored on and served from our own website, so viewing them doesn’t send your information to Instagram. If you click a post or follow a link to Instagram, you leave our site, and Instagram (Meta) handles your information under its own privacy policy.
The map in our Location section isn’t loaded automatically. If you choose to show it, your browser connects to Google Maps, which receives your IP address and may set cookies under Google’s own privacy policy. The Directions button opens Google Maps on Google’s website.
6. Transfers outside Europe
Some of our service providers, such as Google, may process data outside the European Economic Area, including in the United States. Where that happens, the transfer is protected by recognized safeguards such as the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.
7. How long we keep it
- Enquiries that don’t lead to a stay: deleted 24 months after our last contact with you.
- Booking and payment records: kept for as long as Greek tax and accounting law requires, then deleted.
- Server logs: kept briefly by our hosting provider for security, then deleted automatically.
8. Cookies
We don’t use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies, which is why you won’t see a cookie banner on this site.
The website sets one cookie of its own, pll_language, which remembers which language you’re reading the site in. It expires after a year and isn’t used for anything else. The site’s background music also stores, in your browser, whether you’ve turned the sound on or off and where the track was, so it can pick up where it left off. This stays on your device and is never sent to us.
9. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to:
- access the personal information we hold about you
- correct anything that is inaccurate
- ask us to delete your information
- restrict or object to how we use it
- receive your information in a portable format
To use any of these rights, email info@eosmiloshouse.com. We’ll reply within one month. We may need to keep some records where the law requires it, such as booking and payment records for tax purposes.
If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Hellenic Data Protection Authority (Αρχή Προστασίας Δεδομένων Προσωπικού Χαρακτήρα), Kifisias 1–3, 115 23 Athens, Greece — www.dpa.gr.
If you live in another EU country, you can also contact the data protection authority there.
10. Security
We protect your information with encrypted (HTTPS) connections, authenticated email, and access limited to the owner and the site’s developer. No system is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect what you share with us.
11. Children
This website and our booking service are intended for adults. We don’t knowingly collect information from children under 16, and bookings must be made by an adult.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
